MACA is seeking a motivated HSEQ Graduate to join our HSEQ Advisor Development Program and kick-start your career in the mining and contracting industry.

This structured development program is designed to provide broad, hands-on experience across MACA’s business, developing your understanding of HSEQ responsibilities across Mining, Crushing, Interquip, Civil and Infrastructure.

Key areas of responsibility:

 

  • Participate in MACA’s HSEQ Advisor Development Program, gaining experience across multiple business divisions and operational environments.
  • Spend time in the field working alongside employees and operational teams to understand workplace risks and assist in developing practical controls.
  • Develop an understanding of MACA’s HSEQ Management System, processes and safe work practices.
  • Complete the practical and theory requirements of the MACA Trainee HSEQ Advisor program.
  • Gain exposure to the HSEQ responsibilities associated with Mining, Crushing, Interquip, Civil and Infrastructure operations.
  • Develop an understanding of relevant HSEQ legislation and requirements across MACA’s different business divisions.
  • Assist HSEQ Advisors and line management with incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions.
  • Participate in workplace inspections, employee engagements, toolbox meetings and other HSEQ activities.
  • Contribute to the identification and reduction of hazards and incidents across our operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to improving MACA’s safe work practices and procedures.
  • Complete internal and external training requirements within agreed timeframes.
  • Build strong working relationships with employees, Supervisors, HSEQ Advisors and the wider Project Leadership Team.
  • Contribute to MACA’s commitment to positive Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality outcomes.

 

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Degree in HSEQ or equivalent field.
  • Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • A genuine passion for positive Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality outcomes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HSEQ systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work within timeframes and deliver agreed targets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn from experienced HSEQ professionals and operational teams.
  • A strong commitment to safety, training and continuous improvement.
  • Provide First Aid will be highly regarded.
